On the weekend I went to get my nails done and chose two of the nail polishes from the OPI Pirates of the Caribbean nail polish collection for my mani-pedi:
- OPI Steady as She Rose nail polish – a super pale lilac nail polish for my fingers
- OPI Planks a Lot nail polish – a purple nail polish for my toes
Overall I was a wee bit underwhelmed by the OPI Pirates of the Caribbean nail polish collection and unfortunately these two haven’t done much to change my mind.
OPI Planks a Lots is a cute enough purple nail polish, but it’s nothing new and there are much better purple nail polishes out there, in fact OPI do much better (and similar) purples. For example OPI A Grape Fit nail polish is a gorgeous purple nail polish.
The texture of OPI Planks a Lot is a bit of a concern as well – I have the standard nail-shop 2 coats on in the pictures and you can see that the finish isn’t opaque in areas, with a few streaks.
This picture of OPI Steady as She Rose nail polish was taken after four days of wear, so you can see it has worn really well. I did have to ask for an extra coat of polish at the nail shop however as 2 coats were nowhere near enough for the opaque finish that I like.
The colour of OPI Steady as She Rose nail polish is a super, super pale lilac – it’s just too pale for me and feels a bit washed out. One of my friends did comment that she liked as an alternative to pale pink for a neutral nail polish, however.
Pop over to my OPI Skull & Crossbones and Stranger Tides nail polish post for a peek of two more of the OPI Pirates of the Caribbean collection or OPI Sparrow me the Drama nail polish.
