For as long as I can remember I have used the same foundation – Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation, 109 Natural Bronze. But for some reason when I ran out the other week I thought I would try something different. I see so many foundations out there that promise luminous and beautiful skin, that I thought it was time I gave something else a go.

And so I choose No 7 Lift and Luminate Foundation in New Ivory. No’s been designed to lift and firm your skin whilst at the same time giving you complete and even coverage.

At £15.50 it’s not cheap – and was it worth the move from a foundation I already love! Well that’s something I am still not sure about!

I don’t dislike this foundation, in fact I like it a lot… but for different reasons to my Max Factor Lasting Performance foundation.

Unfortunately for me I didn’t have very helpful assistant in Boots and I therefore don’t think she suggested quite the right colour for me in New Ivory, it’s just a little pale, not ideal for the summer. But it’s still a nice and very natural skin tone.

The foundation pumps from an easy to use bottle and it’s got a really nice thick and creamy consistency. In fact it’s like applying a nice every day moisturiser – and my skin did feel really soft to touch – and a little ‘lifted’.

However I didn’t feel it gave enough coverage to what I am used to. I felt there were areas on my face I then needed to go over with my concealer to just really tone them down.

If it’s an every day easy to wear foundation you are after, this defiantly ticks the boxes. If it’s a really good base to your make up you want which evens out your skin tone…then maybe its not.

No 7 Lift and Luminate Foundation

I would buy No 7 Lift and Luminate Foundation again (in another of the six available shades) as I loved how it made my skin feel to touch, but I would keep my Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation in my bag for those nights out where you want real coverage.
