I have a wee bit of a girl-crush on Kate Hudson and always think that I should try the Almay make up that she advertises so beautifully, because I have similar colouring (deluded I know!), so when I saw the Almay intense i-colour smoky i-kit for green eyes I thought I’d give it a try…
The idea behing the Almay intense i-colour smoky-i kits is that it only take 3 steps to create a perfect smoky eye for your eye colour using the specially designed smoky eye kits… There are different eye shadow colours in each kit depending on your eye colour.
So how did I get on with the Almay i-intense smoky eyeshadow kit for green eyes?
There are 3 eyeshadow colours in the Almay intense-i smoky-i eyeshadow kit for green eyes, a dark puple brown eyeshadow, a smoky brown eyeshadow and a pale peachy shimmer eyeshadow.
So the instructions of how to apply the smoky eyeshadow for green eyes are so simple…
- Apply the darkest shade from lash line to crease, blending upwards.
- Apply the medium shade (smoky brown shadow) just above the crease and blend well for a smouldering effect.
- Apply the lightest eyeshadow shade to the brown bone to highlight and the inner corners of the eye to brighten.
The eyeshadows are a good consistency and have a good level of pigmentation so you can get a decent coverage of eyeshadow, but these def don’t give you a really dramatic smoky eye. It’s a fairly subtle smoky eye look, one that you would wear during the day instead of at night…
My results from following the instructions on the Almay intense i-color smoky-i eyeshadow kit for green eyes look pretty similar to Kate Hudson in the promo pic though, so I can’t complain about that! If you want a super-simple way to use eyeshadow for your eye colour, this is a lovely palette for green eyes, but if you are after a proper dramatic smoky eye eyeshadow, then the Almay smoky-i eyeshaodw kit probably isn’t the best buy!
