When lookfantastic were running their free international postage offer a few weeks ago I took the chance to snap up some polishes that won’t be available in New Zealand for a while, the Essie Mini Spring 2011 nail polish collection.
The Essie Mini Spring 2011 nail polish collection is four of the new essie Spring nail polish shades in mini 5ml bottles all packaged in a cute little box. The four polishes included in the mini Spring collection are:
- French Affair – a pretty pale pink nail polish
- Nice is Nice – pale pastel purple nail polish
- Coat Azure – shimmering pale blue nail polish
- Topless & Barefoot – pale sandy beige nail polish
These polishes are lovely! Really perfect pale pastel colours, just lovely for spring and I am resolutely wearing them in to Autumn in New Zealand. French Affair and Topless & Barefoot would also be perfect for work if you work in a more corporate environment!
The texture, like most Essie polishes, was good with all of these, but a bit variable.
The French Affair nail polish (the pale pink) is borderline too thick – at the moment it is fine, but if it thickens any more with age it will be streaky. The purple Nice is Nice polish is quite thin and you definitely need 3 coats of polish to get an opaque finish. Coat Azure and Topless & Barefoot both have perfect texture; they paint on easily and two coats of polish are enough for a fabulous finish.
I’ve just put Essie French Affair next to Essie Nice is Nice nail polish to compare them because they look quite similar in the pic above with all the colours, but you can see they are really quite different.
I bought my Essie Mini Spring 2011 nail polish collection online at lookfantastic.com and it costs £16.95
