Sally Hansen Salon Effects Zebra Print nail polish strips

A couple of days ago I told you about Sally Hansen Salon Effects real nail polish strips - a DIY instant manicure, similar to Nail Rock. I bought myself the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Zebra Print stickers and tried them out…

In each pack of the Salon Effects you get the real nail polish strips, a little nail file, a cuticle stick and a how-to brochure.

Step 1. Choose the nail strip that best fits your nail (I found that slightly bigger was better)
Step 2. Peel off the clear plastic and then peel the nail polish strip off the paper backing
Step 3. Snap off the silver tab

Step 4. Place the nail polish strip on your nail and match it up with your cuticles, then smooth it on (if it’s a bit big, don’t worry you can use the next step to make it fit your nail)
Step 5. Use the flat edge of the cuticle stick and run it along the edge, so that the sticker completely sticks to your nail
Step 6. Smooth the excess over the edge of your nail and fold it down, then file off the excess

I can’t believe how easy these are to use! I am a huge fan of Nail Rock Designer nail wraps, which are similar to the Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail polish strips, but with the Nail Rock nail wraps (and the similar Rebel Nails) you have to heat the wrap with your hairdryer, which can be a bit fiddly, so the Sally Hansen Salon Effects are much easier to apply.

The Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail polish strips are much thinner, which makes them easier to apply and fit to your nail. If the strip is slightly too big for your nail, you can just run the cuticle stick along the edge and remove the excess. The only downside to the thinner nail polish strip is that you can quite easily rip them, so you do have to be careful.

Overall I really recommend these! I wouldn’t get the plain nail polish colours, but absolutely try out some of the patterned ones to get a really cute at-home manicure.

There are some cute designs ( you can see more in my original Sally Hansen Salon Effects real nail polish strips posts), but I think that if you want an at-home metallic manicure, you can’t go past Nail Rock – here is my gorgeous metallic Gold Nail Rock manicure I wore for New Years.
